Dr. Ashley Walker recently moved to Valparaiso towards the end of May and began working at Vale Park on June 6. So far, Dr. Ashley Walker seems to be fitting in perfectly with her new team. Dr. Ashley Walker and her colleagues laughed together and planned to hang out together outside of work. Other doctors who worked closely with Dr. Ashley Walker had nothing but good things to say about her.

“It’s a smart cookie. She has a good personality. She is doing really, really well,” Dr. Brent Lakia said.

In the past, Vale Park Animal Hospital has held a welcome event for its new doctors. Events not only allow the new doctor to bond with their new team members, but also to bond with their fluffy clients and owners.

“They usually do some sort of introduction so people can come and meet you,” Dr. Ashley Walker said.

Dr. Ashley Walker was busy introducing herself to her new animal friends, giving them puppy cups and giving them lots of hugs.

Between petting and loving her new clients on all fours, Dr. Ashley Walker had the chance to show her husband, Vincent Walker, and his in-laws their new workplace.

She proudly walked around the building, showing them different spaces such as the surgery room and a soundproof control area for cats. Dr. Ashley Walker’s other staff members greeted her and her family with smiles throughout the tour.

Dr. Ashley Walker’s family were impressed with the new environment in which they began to work.

“It was awesome. The facilities were beautiful. It was much bigger on the inside than it looked on the outside. Every time you turned a corner it seemed like there was all this new stuff. It looked awesome,” Vincent Walker said.

What impressed Dr. Ashley Walker’s family even more was Dr. Ashley Walker herself. His success in starting his career as a vet at Vale Park has thrilled them, and they are happy to see his dreams come true.

“She’s wanted to be a vet since she was little. Not many people know what they want to do at such a young age. So to be able to pursue that dream for the past 20 years and see it come true is quite exciting. We’ve been together for almost 12 years now and to be able to be a part of it and see it has been really exciting,” said Vincent Walker.

In the end, staff, customers and family came together to celebrate not just another wonderful addition to Vale Park Veterinary Hospital, but the successful start of a young woman’s career. Dr. Ashley Walker is sure to do amazing things alongside her new team.

“I’m extremely proud of her,” said Vincent Walker.
