Wake County Animal Center is offering ‘Name Your Price’ cat adoption through June

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — The Wake County Animal Center is offering a “Name Your Price” cat adoption process for the remainder of June.

During the summer, the Wake County Animal Center sees an influx of animals that need to find their forever homes.

“We need our community to step up and provide forever homes for these loving creatures,” said Wake County Commissioner Vickie Adamson.

To help these kittens and cats find their forever families, people can name their price and own any cat over 5 months old.

Officials said there are also ways to reduce the number of cats they see at the shelter.

Authorities are encouraging pet owners to “neuter or neuter their cats, even if they are indoor cats.”

And if you can’t adopt but want to help, Foster Home Coordinator Joanne Duda advises considering foster care.

“If you can’t adopt a cat but want to help, please consider becoming a foster family,” said Joanne Duda, foster care coordinator at Wake County Animal Center. “It’s a very busy time for us, and we’re counting on our volunteers and foster parents.”

Center officials are asking anyone interested to visit their location between noon and 6 p.m. any day of the week. The Wake County Animal Center is located at 820 Beacon Lake Drive in Raleigh.
