Pima Animal Care Center launches new foster program

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) – The Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) has plans to improve current operations.

PACC staff say this new program will offer host families a $50 Amazon gift card every two weeks for up to six weeks.

“The community has supported our foster program for a very long time,” said Director of Animal Services Monica Dangler. “These puppies need very special rescuers, and we know those foster families are here in this amazing community.”

Dangler says one-on-one training with a professional trainer will address common behaviors pets may exhibit, such as:

  • Reactivity of the leash
    • Barking, pulling, etc. leash
  • Pulse control
    • Teaching a Nervous Dog to Calm Down
  • fear of strangers
  • Afraid of being alone
  • Resource Guard
    • When they don’t want to share toys, treats, food, etc.

She reveals that Pedigree sponsored this grant, making it possible through PACC’s official nonprofit partner, Friends of Pima Animal Care Center.

Dangler also confirms that each part of this pet program “comes with up-to-date medical care, microchipping, current vaccinations, and free spaying or spaying surgery.”
