Detroit Animal Care Waives All Adoption Fees for Opening Day Weekend
DETROIT – To celebrate the Detroit Tigers’ home opener this weekend, Detroit Animal Care and Control is waiving all adoption fees for adoptable animals through Monday.
The animal shelter, located on Chrysler Drive near East Grand Boulevard, is hosting a free adoption event Thursday through Monday, April 11. All adoption fees will be waived for adoptable dogs and cats, and the animals are fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, officials mentioned.
Detroit Animal Care and Control is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“We’re celebrating opening day and kitten season,” said Mark Kumpf, Director of Animal Care. “April is traditionally the time when we see the greatest consumption of kittens. We got a state-of-the-art incubator to give our youngest kittens a good chance of surviving in a shelter and give our team the time to find a foster family who would accept bottle-feeding When given the opportunity to save more lives, we always choose to do so.
Pets available for adoption are shared frequently on the Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control Facebook page here.
