Closing of the Burlington Veterinary Hospital on September 24

Closing

Burlington Veterinary Hospital, located on Forestdale Drive, will close permanently on Friday, September 24.

Dr Deanna Tickle bought the long-running practice just over four years ago, but said the strains linked to the pandemic were too great for the office to continue operating.

“This decision was difficult but necessary. In the current climate, staffing has proven to be an insurmountable challenge in many industries, including the veterinary industry,” said a Facebook post announcing the closure. “I have not been able to staff my hospital enough to provide the level of service that I believe is needed while maintaining a large facility.”

Pet owners can obtain a copy of medical records by emailing [email protected], calling (336) 584-9241, or visiting the office between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Between September 24 and 30, the office will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for file pick-up. After Sept. 30, pet owners should pick up their pet’s medical records from Town ‘n’ Country Animal Hospital by calling (336) 227-9979.

Tickle said she plans to offer veterinary rescue services to other local practices.

“Thank you all again for your years of loyalty to my practice, I wish you and your pets the best of luck,” she wrote on Facebook.
